Gentleman Jack Filming

_edited.jpg

As many of you will know Langton Hall was used as a filming location for series 2 of Gentleman Jack. The release date has now been set and the premiere has been aired in London! You will soon be able to see Langton Hall shine on screen!

Historically Langton Hall has strong ties to Gentleman Jack, it was the former home of a wealthy landowner, Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Norcliffe and his wife, Ann.

The family had four daughters, Isabella, Charlotte, Mary and Emily (We give a nod to Isabella and Charlotte in the names of our luxury cottages) and two sons, Norcliffe and Thomas.

Isabella formed a close friendship with Anne Lister and by 1810 Anne Lister had very close ties to the family- even staying at Langton Halls' South Wing for a large period of time.

She began to cultivate a new friendship with Isabella Norcliffe, fascinated as she was by the wealthy, sophisticated lifestyle of the family who resided at Langton Hall.

Anne quickly recognised a kindred spirit in Isabella Norcliffe who was Six years older and very worldly-wise,

Isabella nevertheless became equally star-struck with Anne and they remained friends and occasional lovers.

throughout the remainder of Anne’s life.

The BBC's period drama Gentleman Jack is not one to be missed!

Book now to stay in The South Wing that was once used by the Norcliffe family and Anne Lister in order to live like Lord/Lady of the Manor!
